Tuesday Morning

We had a wonderful long weekend ( President's Day Holiday ) with Paul Jr. and the family.

Valentine's day on Saturday was a perfect time for a BBQ.  Paul and Christy treated themselves to a new Kingsford BBQ pit which we put to good use right away.

Pork steaks and chicken leg quarters were the order of the day. Grandpa received a bag of Heath bar miniatures and Grandma got a beautiful pot of live red tulips.

We met the newest member of the family, Sadie Sue, aka Shady Who.

Ben and Grandpa exchanged card tricks and we just all enjoyed being together.

Sunday we attended worship services at the Apache Junction Church of Christ.  They are a small congregation similar to our congregation at home.

We returned to Paul's house and BBQed again.  Brats and burgers were the order of the day.  We enjoyed being outdoors in warm (84 degrees) weather.

We watched the KTVI news from home and saw the snow storm there.  We are blessed and thankful to be able to avoid the winter.

Monday, Feb. 16, was Jared and Gen's anniversary.  Happy Anniversary!

Lela and I were in charge of feeding the family.  Lela planned a Tex-Mex casserole and angel food cake for desert. Dinner was delicious, as you might expect.  The cake turned out to be an adventure.  It rose in the oven to resemble a soufflé.
It did return to be a cake when it cooled and it was devoured as expected.

G'pa raced Ben (15 years old next month) in a 40 yard dash.  Ben "smoked" me. He won going away. If you don't know, I used to race the kids every year when we visited and I always won.  I guess time and tide wait for no man.

After dinner pictures:
Quintin fashioned his own table.

Today, Feb. 17, we are having coffee and catching up on our electronic lives.  No decision has been made about what today's plan might be.
