Today, Feb. 7, was Cowboy Mardi Gras in Bandera, Texas. Bandera is "The Cowboy Capital of the World."
We went into town at 9:30 AM so that we could park in the center of town in front of the plaza where we watched the gunfight a couple of weeks ago. We had breakfast at O.S.T. (Old Spanish Trail) restaurant and picked our spot on the street to watch the parade. The weather was supposed to be warm, but they lied to us. The temperature was in the low 50's and overcast.
The sun finally came out in mid afternoon.
We saw a lot of things that we probably will never see again in our lives. The following pictures are all from the parade.
Color Guard
Nice Crowd

Chuck Wagon
For Sherry
Saloon Girl
A Merry Oldsmobile
After all, this is Texas!
A couple cowpokes
Roy and Gabby couldn't be here.
After the parade we went through a few more local shops and spent the day walking around and talking to "folks."
Interesting sign
Teddy and Becky will recognize the "Chikin Coop."
It is where the bikers like to gather.
For some reason Bandera is the used boot capital of the world, too.
Another interesting sign
We bought a pizza at Cowboy Pizza restaurant and brought it back to the Silver Star
Cowboy Pizza
The sun set and it began to get chilly again so we have retired inside to make this entry and enjoy a movie.
Yesterday, Feb. 6, we bid goodbye to our friends from Tupelo MS., Teddy and Becky. It was a sad thing to watch them drive away. We had such a wonderful time with them exploring the Texas Hill Country. The weather was not good so we stayed inside all day watching TV and movies.
