Sunday Morning

I have a little time before church this morning so I thought...why not update the blog?

This week we celebrated Ben's 14th, Danny's 66th, and Drew's 19th birthdays. Happy birthday to all!

Today we intend to repair our awning, which was damaged last week in the storm.  The part arrived yesterday in the mail.  I can't imagine what force bent this solid cast aluminum bar.  Maybe Teddy can tell me?

Then I think we are going to the driving range for some practice as Lela and I both have tee times on Monday.

If you are keeping score at home, my golf at San Miguel was one shot better on Friday than it was last Friday (41-45).  I did not play as well, but the result was better.  Golf doesn't make sense sometimes.  They say it is called golf because all the other four letter words were taken.

The weather was perfect and continues to be perfect.

Lela cleaned and visited with some neighbors and relaxed in the sun with her book.

When I returned from golf we decided to drive up to Queen Creek for the Roots n' Boots Rodeo.
I had not been to a rodeo, so it was very interesting to me.
It was a sanctioned rodeo by the professional rodeo assn. but the talent was not "top" quality.

One of the best acts was a cowboy and his horse with two trained buffalo.  I have video of him with the horse and the buffalo on top of the trailer, but I only have a pic of the buffalo.
  It was really impressive.

We did enjoy ourselves and returned home worn out from our day's activities.

Saturday, we celebrated Ben's birthday again as Paul had to work on the 6th and could not spend the day with Ben.  We traveled to a mall in Mesa, AZ, where Ben shopped with his birthday money.

There was a big sale on Q.  We did not buy extra.

Then we stopped at Little Caesar's Pizza and bought 7 pizzas to feed the crew a birthday dinner.
After dinner Paul and I had our annual cigar on the driveway and solved all the problems of the universe.
