Friday Morning
It is a beautiful day in Casa Grande! The temps are in the 50's at night and low 80's during the day.
It is a golf day today. I am playing San Miguel today with the same guys from last week. I hope to improve on last weeks results.
Tuesday I played a public course called Dave White Golf. It was not the best course I have seen, but it is close by and has a driving range and practice facility. I shot 43-41 for an 84. I was pretty happy with the overall score, but I was woefully inconsistent. On the back nine I had 6 pars and 3 double bogeys.
After golf and lunch I took Lela to the driving range. She hit a bucket of balls and spent an hour on the putting green. She is much improved and looking forward to her next outing. She has new shoes and a new driver which fits her height better than her old set.
Wednesday was a day of looking around Casa Grande. We are still trying to familiarize ourselves with the territory. We did some shopping and just enjoyed pokin' around.
Thursday, yesterday was Ben's birthday. He is now 14 years old. He wanted cheeseburgers on the grill for his dinner
and a "Death By Chocolate" cake.
We had a great time and Ben got what he wanted for his birthday.
I played catch with Zac. It was the first time I had thrown a baseball in two years. It felt really good.
Thursday morning Lela spent with our neighbor Bonnie, learning to make a necklace from aluminum pop tops and beads. It is pretty cool and Lela has really taken to Bonnie. Bonnie's husband Billy is a Korean vet and is a real character. We have been very lucky to meet such great people on our travels.
