Saturday Morning
Time is running short in the desert. Our attention will soon turn to packing up and moving to Bullhead City, Az. The plan is to leave Wednesday morning and arrive in Bullhead on the same day.
We are headed over to Paul & Christy's this afternoon to visit, because as I said, the time is growing short.
Thursday was a day of scouting out different RV parks near Queen Creek, AZ for next year. We rang up about 150 miles looking at the various parks in Apache Junction. There is a really good reason to move there next year as I will explain in the next blog entry, so stay tuned.
We went by Paul's house on the way to Queen Creek to see Christy's mom, "Grammy." She had left her little Chihuahua dog, Paco, with the kids while she convalesced from an illness and was there to pick him up.. The dog had grown close to Christy and was reluctant to return to his owner. The kids hated to see him go,
On the way to check out new parks we stopped for lunch at Freddy's. http://www.freddysusa.com/
If you don't know about Freddy's, it is very similar to Steak n' Shake.
Yesterday, Friday, Lela went to her aerobics class and I sat on the couch. When she returned, she put on her swim suit and headed to the pool. I sat on the couch.
In the evening the park sponsored a dance for the residents, which we attended. The music was provide by Tommy Fontaine.
He was very entertaining as his act was to impersonate different singers, which he did very well. Most of the music was 50's genre, which was right up our alley. We did a lot of dancing and were worn out at the end.
It is encouraging to see so many "older folks" still able to enjoy dancing and all the other activities provided in these parks.
Richard and Sharon, a Canadian couple who own a park model asked us to stop at their place on the way home, which we did. The temperature at 11 pm was about 70 degrees so we sat outside on their deck. We visited for about an hour, went home, and then fell into bed exhausted.
