Saturday January 6, 2018

We arrived in SanTan Valley safe and sound at noon on Friday. (answered Prayers).

Wednesday: Since the last post {Tuesday) we left grand Prairie (17 degrees) and we spent the night in Odessa TX.  We arrived there at about 3PM and went about getting warm.  27 degrees overnight.  We rested pretty well under the electric blanket.  Last year we overlooked packing the electric blanket.  It would have done us in this year.  We left Odessa at about 7:30 and were headed to Santa Cruz, NM  .G'pa began coughing and wondering if I was about to be sick.  God only knows what we were  exposed to along the route.

Thursday, The coughing became more frequent and the sinus drainage joined in, but we had no choice but to motor on.  As we neared Santa Cruz it was only about noon so we decided to cut our Friday travel time to the ranch by driving two more hours to Lordsburg NM.  It was in the 40's when we arrived and the predicted temp was supposed to be in the 30's.  We thawed out the SS so we could use our own water. Well, when we awakened it was in the upper 20' and there was ice on the windshield.

Friday was pretty uneventful (thank God). We rolled through Tucson and on north to San Tan Valley, Arriving at noon.  I managed to not be sick until we arrived and we unpacked SS. The neighbors had a chili dinner ready for us, but I elected to get a hot shower and go to bed.  Lela went there and brought me a bowl.  It was very tasty. My night wasn't very comfortable.  Lela ended up moving to the couch..

Saturday:  I was feeling a little better, so I began moving things out of our shed and making room for the things that needed to be stored there.  I unpacked the truck and Lela spent most of the day doing laundry and unpacking the tubs which were in the truck.  As she was doing all that she began to cough and is now settled under her "sick blanket" on the loveseat.  It looks like an early evening. We are staying home from church in the morning.

All the neighbors were happy that we had finally arrived.  We have pretty much kept our distance from anyone we might contaminate with the crud.

The previous posts were from my iPhone and I couldn't seem to get the pictures to upload.
