Thursday Afternoon

Upper 80's today.  The weather here as been above average by about 10 degrees every day.

Lela is still suffering with the sinus infection so we are staying close to home today.  We did make a Wal-Mart run earlier, but came straight home.

Monday, March 9, we headed to Bullhead City, AZ.  Our friends from MO live there now. They put us up in their apartment.

Lela and Tracy, chillin'.

It was a beautiful drive up there.  Here are some shots taken from the moving truck.
This is the national Joshua Tree forest on AZ 93.

More Joshua Tree Forest

We reached an altitude of 4200 feet somewhere in this picture.

A large Mesa on the route.

We visited with Tim & Tracy last year also.  Tim played softball with me for several years and Tracy worked with Lela.

Tracy was off work on Tuesday so I got to shop all day with the girls.  :-)

While shopping Lela found a clay pot she admired and wanted to know the cost. When she looked inside she found the biggest scorpion we have ever seen.  It was almost as big as a mouse.  I didn't think to take it's picture. Tim said if it was stretched out it would have been 5-6 inches long.  The owner had it removed and RELEASED as she is an environmentalist.  I would have squashed it.

When Tim got off work we went to dinner at Harrah's Casino on the Nevada side of the Colorado River which divides AZ and Laughlin, NV.  The restaurant is Guy Fieri's El Burro Borracho (Burros means dumb people (or donkeys), and borrachos means "drunks." )  We were neither of those.

Guy Fieri is well known on the Food Network on cable TV.

It was an interesting place to eat.

Lela and Tracy picked up some breakfast for the morning.  Two iced cinnamon rolls.  Each one was as large as a softball.

Wednesday, March 11, we hung out with Tracy and I got to shop with the girls again. :-)

We waited to leave until we would avoid the rush hour traffic in Phoenix and drove home.  It would be a similar time and distance as to go to Branson from home.
