Trying again to post. Google was most uncooperative last time.
We are keeping up with our home congregation for worship on Sunday mornings, and twice during the week for bible study. We are using a program named Zoom which allows us to see and have conversations.
As far as our plans to head home, it appears that we'll probably wait until mid May. Even after
we get home it is my understanding that we'll have to self quarantine for fourteen days. That means we won't be available until June. We are taking advice from those who know better than we do.
We do try to get our walk in each morning before it gets hot. It is about a mile around the park.
The weather has been very good lately, mid 80's. Next week the forecast is for upper 90's and 100's.
As you can imagine there isn't a whole lot to talk about as we are staying home and keeping our distance, even while partying.
We hosted a super moon party for the pink moon
a couple weeks ago on 4/18.

I have been trying out the $10.00 smoker I bought at the park garage sale. It came with charcoal and chips. It is pretty banged up but still useable. For ten bucks I can afford to toss it in the dumpster.
first try was chicken (4.5 hrs.)
2nd try was chuck roast (6 hrs)
3rd was pork shoulder roast (10 pounds 8.5 hrs).
Everything was tasty, but it is a lot of effort to use charcoal. I think I'll look into an electric smoker.
We are continuing to follow federal guidelines as much as we can. I pick up groceries at the back door but I think I'm going to have to go inside tomorrow as there are some things that aren't available for pick-up.
The following are pictures from around the park. Th cactus is beginning to flower. We haven't been here this late to see this. I don't know the names of the plants but the flowers are beautiful.
This is a barrel cactus. I am going to take one of the chicks
next season for our yard.
