March 13, 2020 Friday

Last Sunday the 8th, the park chartered a tour bus and took us to a Cactus league baseball game.
On the bus

It featured the Milwaukee Brewers and the Oakland A's.

Lela and I donned our Cardinal gear and went to the game.
It's great to have good friends!

Some of the crew, can you find us?

Our good friends, Darlene and Bruce from Washington state.

It was a good time. The game itself wasn't very good as the final score can attest (11-3, A's), but it was baseball and several of the big league players played.

G'pa did manage to corral a foul ball down the left field line.  As time goes by it may be remembered as a diving, one handed grab, which saved the life of a little old lady.

Hero of the day and his admiring wife.

I did not play golf this week as I am nursing a back injury.  I hope to be able to play on Wednesday this week.

Lela has skipped her exercise class yesterday and today as she is nursing a leg injury.

Getting old isn't for sissies.

Our weather this week has been very poor.  We have had four days of rain and cool temperatures. They tell us on the news that it is very unusual to have consecutive days like we've had.  The sun is out today, but temps are only mid 60's.

We haven't been seeing our usual hummingbirds this season, but we have noticed others taking advantage of the feeders.

We are staying close to home now as the Covid Virus is limiting our willingness to be in a crowd.  Lela even did her grocery shopping online and we just picked up the order without going inside.  Hopefully we'll get home without being exposed here.
