Monday Evening

We left home on New Year's day and headed to Bedford, TX to visit Lela's brother H. E..  After about a 10 hour drive we arrived late in the afternoon. We visited a short while and then located Lupe's Mexican restaurant, which is Lela's favorite in Texas.  http://lupestxmx.com/

Saturday 2nd
Edward, H. E.'s son, who lives in the Fort Worth area, in Colleyville, TX came over and helped to move a piece of furniture we had carried from OK for H.. We visited with him and Hillard IV for awhile.  Edward returned later in the day with his family, Lesley, Lucy, and Hillard IV.  We had a late Christmas and caught up with all the family news.

The apartment complex was having a trivia contest in the afternoon so we all went and strained our brains.  H has become somewhat of a celebrity in the trivia world of Parkwood Apartments.  It seems everyone wants him at their table.  It was quite a lot of fun.

Edward took all of us to dinner at Campo Verde Mexican restaurant. http://www.campoverde.us/

It is a destination during the holidays as they have a bazillion lights mounted in the restaurant and trains that run all throughout the place.

Sunday morning we worshipped at the Bedford Church of Christ, a congregation of about 75.
After that we returned to H's and had lunch in the dining room, packed up and headed to Dobbin, TX to visit with Lela's daughter Noel and her family.

It was about 4 hours, mostly on the I-45 Speedway.  I was keeping up with traffic at 80 - 85 MPH and they were passing me on the right.  It was quite a ride.

It was Patrick's birthday.  He put some ribs on the BBQ and we had birthday cake for dessert.  Noel put those sparkler candles on the cake that reignite when you blow them out, so we all had a good laugh.

We waited for the Dish Network installer to arrive and get us some TV.  Noel and Patrick are building their home in Dobbin and had moved in on Christmas Eve.  There is still plenty of finish work to be done and some outside construction to be finished.

We hung the TV in their bedroom last night and watched a little TV then off to bed.
I'll post a few pictures of the house later as I get them.

Tuesday 5th.
The girls went shopping for home goods and Patrick went shopping for "man stuff."  We needed a tool to complete the master shower grouting and also some ammo.  We accomplished both.

Home for grilled chicken, movies, blogging and bedtime.
