Saturday Night

I began this post on Wednesday when we arrived home but gave it up because I was too tired to continue.  I thought I would get to it on Thursday morning.  Well, Lela woke me at about 7 AM with the news that as she tried to do laundry, the basement drain was flooding the floor.  That wasn't what I had in mind for Thursday AM.  So then it was call insurance and wait for service.

Drainmaster showed up Friday AM and cabled the drain but couldn't clear the obstruction.  Then the guy got his camera stuck in the drain and had to call for help. Now we are waiting for "someone" to call and tell us when we are going to have the backyard dug up.  Patience is thin.

We still have the Silver Star hooked up in front of the house, so we have shower and facilities, but we don't know when we'll be back to normal.

Now back to the original post.

Wednesday Night

Home again, home again jiggity jig!

We have had a lot of the proverbial irons in the fire this week.  We were wrapping up our camp in Skyline Park and preparing to head home.  We were trying to squeeze in some time with the family, and we were finalizing contracts and specifications on what we will refer to in the future, with tongue in cheek, as "The Ranch."

We have purchased a single wide mobile home which will become a permanent structure in Skyline Park, in the San Tan Valley, Arizona.  That will make us tax paying citizens of AZ as well as MO..  The pictures below are of a unit that is the same as ours.  We will have a different color, but the style is the same.  It is 14 ft. wide and 48 ft. long, 640 sq. ft.. It will sit on lot number 251 which is 60 ft. wide by 100 ft. long.  It will be flanked by two 14 x 62 ft. driveways, and covered on both sides by aluminum awnings that run the length of the unit.

We will need to go back to AZ at the end of May to approve the setup and finish financial arrangements, but will return shortly thereafter.   It will be a destination for all our friends and family.  We have two bedrooms and are considering some sofa beds to accommodate our winter visitors.  It will be a work in progress for some time to come.

Thursday and Friday are a blur at this point.  I remember that Lela went to her exercise class and I didn't.

Saturday, March 28, we spent all day breaking camp and stowing everything for travel early Monday.  Lela worked inside and I worked outside.

Sunday we went to worship at Queen Creek Church of Christ. We had 15 this week.  It is a little different meeting in someone's home but...
1 Corinthians 16:19 19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.
It is a very zealous group of Christians.  We will worship with them when we are in AZ.

Sunday afternoon was the last time to see the family.  Paul had been on call all week and we didn't know if we would even get to see him before we left for home.  As luck would have it he was able to spend the afternoon at home.

Zachary was assigned the duty of cooking the chicken.  It was his first foray into the culinary art of BBQ.  G'pa gave the instructions and Zac did the cooking.

The results were a resounding thumbs up.  He did a great job.  St. Louis Style Ribs were also on the menu.  Christy made macaroni salad and potato salad.  Lela did strawberry shortcake. Needless to say we all ate our fill.

Monday morning came and we were on the road at 6 AM.  Our goal was to make it to Pecos TX to spend the night.  after twelve hours we arrived there and fixed supper and fell into bed.

Tuesday was another long day.  We were on the road again at 6 AM and arrived at our destination, Roadrunner Park in Oklahoma City.  We called Abuelo's restaurant and ordered Carry out to take to H.E., LeeAnn and Stephen.

We dined on Mexican food and had a great visit.

Then back to the park.  We got to experience, first hand, an Oklahoma City Storm.  It was complete with winds in excess of 60 MPH and hail.  We had small hail and heavy wind and rain.  The Silver Star was rockin'.  The Direct TV in the park went out in the storm, followed by the power.  We were Okay with 12 volt power and propane for our necessities.

Wednesday we hit the road again at 6 AM.  It was another twelve hour day to get home.  When we got to Springfield MO we ran into a toad choker rainstorm.  It came down in buckets.  We traveled carefully and finally drove out from under it.  When we got home the sun was visible under the clouds.  We gave thanks for our safe trip and began to move necessities into the house.
