Tuesday evening:

Yesterday we traveled ten hours from The Woodlands, and stopped in Ft. Stockton, TX at 4 PM.  After the long drive we walked around the campground to stretch our legs and talked with a few people who were also staying in the RV park.  Everyone is very friendly in the RV parks.  About 3 AM the winds howled and caused a lot of noise in The Silver Star.  A cold front was passing.  Our arrival temperature was 86.  Our departure temp this morning was 37.

Today we traveled 8 hours and are sitting in a KOA Camp in Lordsburg NM.  Our elevation is 4230 feet.  We are sitting about 10 miles from the top of the Great Divide.  The drive was interesting while climbing the mountains.  We were very happy to get out of West Texas.  It was like crossing Kansas with rocks and scrub brush.

Gasoline has been expensive since we arrived in Houston in January.  We have seen prices rise from $3.05 to today's price of $3.69.  I could run the department of energy better than whoever is doing it now.  That is a rant for another day!

Tomorrow we'll arrive at our Arizona destination, Desert Gardens.  It is in Casa Grande and not far from where Paul Jr. and family live in the San Tan Valley.  Tomorrow is also our grandson Ben's birthday.  We are looking forward to seeing him on his day.
