Thursday PM

We arrived yesterday in the early afternoon and were set up by about 4:00.  The trip was pretty much uneventful with the exception of the breathtaking scenery.
This shot is coming into Arizona from Lordsburg NM.  The mountains got larger as we got closer. That Ecoboost Ford Truck handled the mountains very well. I am gaining confidence.

This was a rest stop just inside AZ.  The scenery coming through there was amazing.  Pictures do not tell the story.

Courtney had class at Central Arizona College so we arranged to meet the family at the college.  Christy had some sub sandwiches for us and we stayed there for most of the evening visiting with the kids.  Paul Jr. was working.

Ben got his birthday card with his gift inside.  It is hard to believe he is a teenager (13) now.

We managed to do laundry this morning and meet a few people.  Believe it or not there is a woman here from Ellisville, MO.  We had a nice conversation. The men were involved in the activity for Thursday morning, Horseshoes.  I just watched, but later on I practiced a little bit and decided that I can hang with them.  None of them were any better than me.

Lela and I signed up to go to a dinner theater later this month.  It is a rock and roll show. It sounds like a lot of fun.  I also signed up for the Wednesday Morning golf league.  There are many sights and events here that we want to take in. It looks like we will be pretty busy for a while.

We spent the afternoon with the family.  We walked to a park and watched the boys skateboard and throw the football around.  There was an ice cream truck in the neighborhood so all of "Grandpa's Pals" got something from the truck.

We will celebrate Ben's birthday Saturday.  Grammy is coming and bringing a covered dish.  Lela is fixing cheesey potatos.  I will be BBQing chicken.
