Saturday December 30, 2017

We are packing up to leave on New Year's day.  It is quite a challenge as we cannot put anything in the truck which might freeze because the Sunday night temperature is supposed to be -4 degrees.  I have been running the furnace in the Silver Star (SS) for the past few days to maintain 50 degrees.  I burned through a thirty pound gas cylinder just at 50 degrees for three days.  We will be leaving with approximately 1 1/2 tanks of propane.

The bed of the truck is filled and ready to go.  We have a few tubs to go in the SS as truck space is limited.  The food will be loaded Sunday afternoon.  Last minute preparation and list check Sunday night.  Then a restless night of sleep in anticipation of departure.

Monday the plan is to stop in Springfield, MO to visit with Aunt Bertie then stay overnight in Joplin.

Tuesday will be in Grand Prairie, TX to visit with H.E.

Wednesday We hope to be in Odessa TX overnight.

Thursday Las Cruces NM is the destination where the temperature is forecast to rise above freezing for the first time on our trip.  We will defrost the Silver Star and be able to use our own shower.

Friday we'll make it to San Tan Valley AZ, sometime mid afternoon.

That is the plan!

Don't forget to pray for the travelers.
